Direct Taxes Professional’s Association-DTPA-as is popularly known was established in the year 1982 by some young Advocates and Chartered Accountants of the City of kolkata with the object, amongst others , to  provide a common forum for persons dealing with taxation ,accounts ,corporate and allied  laws for the advancement of profession .
 
DTPA has a membership strength of more than 1250 professionals consisting of Chartered Accountants. Advocates as well as other professionals involved in Taxation, Finance, Capital Market, Information Technology etc. and has its office at one of the Income Tax Building at 3 Govt. Place,(West) in the heart of Kolkata.

Activities of the Association include holding Refresher courses, Seminars on Taxation and use of latest Technologies in profession, holding study circle meetings on taxation and company laws workshop on the trends of the economy of the country, making periodical representations to the Ministry of Finance & other officials through memorandums and delegations. Our Association also maintains a library to cater to the needs of members.
