Direct Taxes Professionals’ Association popularly known as “DTPA” was established in the year 1982.

DTPA is a premier professional Association in Kolkata having Chartered Accountants, Advocates, Company Secretaries, Cost & Management Accountants, Tax Practitioners & Corporates as members. Its membership strength at present is more than 1700 members.

The objects of the Association were primarily to provide a common forum for practitioners engaged or connected and interested in Income Tax, Accounts, Company Law, GST and other allied Laws, to work for mutual benefit and to encourage and advance mutual understanding and social contacts among them. The object has been further extended to prepare a platform for new practitioners in the profession so that they can extend their knowledge in the relevant fields and make the platform beneficial for fellow professional corporates, trade, business and society in general.

We had vibrant and eminent personalities from the field of profession as our illustrious Presidents.

The Association has a centrally located office situated at Income Tax Building, 3, Govt. Place (West), Kolkata – 700 001. The Association is maintaining a library at the same premises and has well-decorated conference hall for study circle meetings/conferences. The office space, library room and conference hall are provided by the Income Tax Department to the Association.

The Study Circle of the Association under the aegis of EIRC of ICAI is known as – DTPA Chartered Accountants’ Study Circle – EIRC.

The Study Circle regularly organizes Workshops, Seminars, Lecture Meetings, Study Circle Meetings, Group Discussions, Educational Courses, Outstation Residential Conferences, etc. for the benefit of its member professionals, keeping them updated & making them professionally competent. The background material handed out to the participants at the Seminars, Conferences, and Study Circle meetings are well researched and exhaustive. Eminent persons from Kolkata & other parts of the country are invited as speakers to dwell upon the topics in the conferences.

The EIRC of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India had conferred our Study Circle for several years, the Best Study Circle award in the eastern region and given us the due recognition.

DTPA contributes to the development of law and the profession through research, analysis and dissemination of knowledge. It reaches its members through emails, whatsapps, SMS alerts keeping them updated on various events, dates and relevant amendments. DTPA website contains static & dynamic information relevant to the members.

DTPA’s identity card issued to members is accepted at all across the Income Tax Offices within West Bengal and Sikkim region as an identity to enter the department premises as per special order by then Principal CCIT, West Bengal & Sikkim.
